Junichi FUNASAKA

He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Tohoku University in 1993 and 1995, respectively.
He also received the M. E. and Ph. D. degrees from Nara Institute of Science and Technology in 1997 and 1999. He was a research associate in Hiroshima City University from 1999 to 2007. From 2007 to 2009, he was a Lecturer. Since 2009, he has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Network Engineering, Graduate School of Information Sciences, Hiroshima City University. His research interests include information processing in the Internet.
He has studied caching of NetNews articles and WWW objects since 1995, and also conducted evaluation on TCP and HTTP performance over satellite link since 1999. His current interest includes investigation on appropriate synchronization period between an origin server and a cache, adaptive parallel downloading methods from mirror servers or peers on P2P networks, and evaluation of transport protocols, such as UDP, DCCP, and SCTP.
